CX X class seat availability... Help pls?
 

I'm wondering if you have any fabulous tricks up their sleeve
that I can try for getting my mother ff seat on an earlier flight, same day:

At the moment, (with Qantas FF points):

CX 134 8.50am Melb - 3.10pm HKG
CX 888 1.00am HKG - 8.20pm YVR

Horrid 10 hr stop over!

There's a connecting flight CX838 4.45pm HKG - YVR which I'm
DESPERATE to get her on. I've been calling qantas every day, and
even tried Cathay.

Is there any hope or anything I could possibly try in the hope of getting
an X class ticket for that flight, as there is availability, just not for award flights.

No great tricks to offer, but if all else fails and there are still empty seats on the day then I am sure CX would take her on the earlier flight on a standby basis.

At check in in OZ tell them your situation, then if no luck go straight to transit ticket desk and smile and be nice and ask, you never know, if that fails go through passport control and try several of the check in desks upstairs
