Question on CX873 SFO-HKG
 
I am scheduled to take this flight on Dec. 4 and wondered about the likelihood that it would need to make a fuel stop? I see last night's flight is listed as "rerouted" on the CX Web site. Does this mean it made a fuel stop. Is the stop in Tapei and does anyone know how long this typically delays the arrival in HK?

A second subject/question. I see CX uses the BA lounge in SFO. Do they typically use the BA gate that allows boarding directly from the lounge?

Thanks to anyone who can help with these questions.

That re-routing is likely a fuel stop.

The chance of boarding from Gate A4 or A6 is small for CX873 (but quite high for CX879).

I took this flight twice in the last month or so. CX873 arriving HKG on 24th Oct had a fueling stop in TPE that delayed arrival to 7:45am. However there wasn't any fuel stop the month before.

Boarding was from gate A9 on both occasions.

There was no fuel stop when I took that flight on Oct 9th.

Thanks. It looks like the flight was rerouted on Oct. 27. I'm not sure about Oct. 28. It does looks like it took off an hour late from SFO. Not sure if that was because passengers were delayed by the unexpected closing on the Bay Bridge or some other reason...

I took CX 873 last year around that time. Usually that flight use gate A9

Normally flight from SFO don't need add'l fuel stop, but possibly yesterday's strong wind (so strong that blow cables off from Bay Bridge) in SFO might lead to use shorter runnway and thus more weight restricted, thus need to add fuel stop.
