Examples for fair pricing of PE
Just have read the interesting discussion about the reasonable or unreasonable pricing for Premium Economy.
Just would like to add the prices for a randomly chosen flight from FRA to HKG and back (Sep 12/19):
You find the following Economy prices:
Eco Special 913,45 Euro
Eco Core 948,45 Euro
Economy Standard: 1.208,45 Euro
Premium Economy Standard: 1.508,45 Euro
Premium Economy Flex: 1.808,45 Euro
So the price difference from Economy Standard 1.208,45 Euro to PE Standard is 1.508,45 for the round trip. This means exactly 150 Euro surcharge per segment for 11 h respectively 12 hours of a more relaxed experience with 2-4-2 instead of 3-4-3 seating.
A surcharge of nearly 25 % on this fare or maximum of 65 % compared with the cheapest available Eco special fare
I am convinced the surcharge is fairly priced, especially in view of the Business Class options starting at 3.448,-- Euro. They surrely will find a market for PE if they price it between 25% and 50 % surcharge. :-:
About 40 % of the PE seats seems to have been sold on this flight. A good number of reservations with the fact in view, that PE just starts on that route.

Row 39 on A333 to Australia
Does anyone have a picture of Row 39 on the A333 to Australia (or have experience sitting in this row)? On the CX seatmap, the leg room in this row looks to be about the same as that of the first row in Premium Economy. Is this actually the case?
I want to select Row 39, but since I am quite tall, I would like to be able to stretch my legs fully, which I would not be able to do if the actual leg room was cut off by the partition of the bulkhead. In fact, that would be worse than the other rows, since at least, I can still stretch my legs to a certain extent underneath the seat in front.

Does anyone else find the IFE a bit for for PEY bulkhead rows?
You get ample leg rooms, but the IFE's just positioned a bit...too far for such a small screen. Sort of like the above pic, how the gentlemen have to lean forward to see the screen, and you can't really just sit back...and enjoy the show (as oppose to a screen closer to you, or a larger screen in J/F)

The last pic was only taken an hour ago. The pax complained the USB socket is out of reach.

row 39 on A33G are by far the best of best seat, in fact hall of fame, surpassing any other "best seat" of CX fleet I have seen (330, 340 including 600 series, 777, 747, tristar... etc) In fact picture tells thousand words as above.
only downside might be the IFE being too far. But if you are after leg room with somewhat privacy and comfort there aren't any better seat I can think of in CX's fleet in Y.

Row 39 is Excellent!
Just finished my trip to Australia. Per my query in previous posts, I had inquired about the legroom in Row 39 of Economy Class on the 333, and I can say for sure that the seats in this row have excellent leg room.
I did book 39H on both the outbound and inbound sectors, but I was fortunately upgraded on both sectors to Business Class (even on a very empty flight) because it turned out this trip coincided with my 14th Anniversary of being an MPC member. Thanks MPC!!!
I did, however, go back to the Econ cabin to take a look at Row 39, and indeed, the legroom is the best.

I don't have a photo but it really has restricted legroom. It's basically a normal seat (maybe a tad more legroom) minus the space underneath the seat in front of you to put your legs. Very uncomfortable even for a 1.5 hour flight. Can't imagine doing 12 hours in that seat. I'm 180cm btw.

Save a phone call to MPO to try to get row 30 unlocked. Will stay in Row 31
How's row 39 in the 4-class?

To me, it seems airlines would give additional legroom to the first row of seats in that zone, if they cannot fit another row of seat.
For example, I had experience on mid-haul A330 and A340 in economy class, while the first row / bulkhead seat of A330 has additional legroom, I can get out of my window seat without disturbing my aisle seatmate.
However, A340 does not, the bulkhead seats have less/restricted legroom compare to other seats where you have the space in the seat of front of you to stretch out.
Not all bulkhead seats have additional legroom.
