You answered your own question since rates that don't earn points, don't earn points!

Will phantom work this time?

The first time around, a lot of people booked phantom stays... Book online, check-in over the phone, and just earn the points. It looks like they are trying to combat that this time, with T&C saying "Guest must be present at the Participating Hotel at both the time of check-in and check-out". In the entire KC area, there is just one Comfort Inn, none of the other brands, and I have no travel plans during that time. Is anyone else going to try to see if a phantom booking will still work? Maybe it's just a matter of checking in AND out by phone? Anyone else have an ideas for earning the one night stay? I'm tempted to put a add on CL to see if someone will split the cost of a room, if I book, and they check in and out. But I'd be uncomfortable doing that with a stranger, and ending up being charged $50 worth of porn and room service.

If you book online you get a 1000 point bonus for Red, a 2000 point bonus for Silver and gold and 3000 points for concierge. Best to do it online.

I will be in a city with a Radisson on 15MAY.

If I book the advance purchase rate now, and sign up for the promo ASAP after midnight on the 15th, does anyone have an idea if the night will apply for the promo even though it was booked prior to the promo period?

Thanks.

I read through the terms and conditions twice, and it's not clear. I would advise you to contact Club Carlson directly and get a clear answer. Would be a shame not to get the points on a technicality. Others have had their questions answered via their Facebook page, but I would imagine any other means of communication would work.

I know. Company insists on booking through the hotel... Those 3000 points are nice to have but the 50000 matter more though... ;-)

So am I still eligable if I book through the hotel directly?

I'm pretty sure I read that *registration* starts May 15, but it's for stays from a future date. May 20 or something like that.

I live in KC. I will be taking the family on two mini vacations. One to the Omaha Zoo (Incredible Zoo, one of the best in the country and they just opened the new aquarium) for the Country Inn stay and once to Branson for the Radisson stay. I did the Radisson stay the last promo for $67 during Christmas. It looks to be $120 this summer. If this helps you with any ideas.

I supplied the "phantom stay" hotel on the other thread. Unfortunately, the hotel is now a Regency hotel. As a matter of fact, there are now only 2 Radisson branded hotels in the DFW area, one near SMU and the other in Fort Worth. It's going to be more expensive this time around.

Wish they would confirm the triple dip capability. (Link above is too ambigous) Have a stay in Houston coming up and they are Country Inn heavy.

I've stayed on F&F rates a few times and none has ever earned points; therefore would not qualify for any promos. Cash & Points stays however do earn points and have also counted towards recent promotions.

Anyone ever have success with multiple status matches for Club Carlson? I status matched in 2010 when I had Marriott Plat status to Club Carlson Gold. I didn't stay enough in 2010 to requalify for Gold but did stay enough to get Silver status for 2011. I didn't stay enough in 2011 and dropped down to "regular" status in 2012. Wondering if I should try to get another status match now or if it's a "once in a lifetime" thing?

AFAIK, it's only a one time thing. Maybe, if you have upcoming reservation(s), you can call and see if they will match or give you at least Silver status.

A Club Carlson rep clearly confirmed on their Facebook page. If you don't like the link provided, then you can go to their Facebook page and see it for yourself.

Posts #30 and #33 above say that existing reservations will not qualify. So you should definitely contact Club Carlson for clarification.
