They will, apparently, still allow private charter flights. (Bahamas). But all commercial flights from US suspended immediately except to pick up departing passengers from the Bahamas back to the US.

St. Vincent & Grenadines PM also announced today that July 25th may be the last AA flight allowed in from Miami. He basically said the only reason he was allowing the incoming flight on the 25th was so Americans who flew in on the 18th had a way off the island. He 'strongly encouraged' all Americans to depart July 25th or risk being stranded.

From various travel blogs & forums, other Caribbean nations discussing following suit. Not good news for the US for Caribbean travel.

Bahamas reinstates Covid-19 closure& quarantine (Jul 2020)

Bahamas Government changed their minds about not allowing tourists from the United States but requires a 14 day self quarantine. 2 questions. How do you self quarantine if you are on your going for a few days. Also American will not resume service to the Bahamas till September. The situation is fluid will AA revise this.

Seems the Bahamas didn't revere the closure at all since they reversed it so quickly.

It is unclear whether, like most nations requiring quarantine, one may leave the country in less than 14 days. On the other hand, it seems to be a fairly tough trip since the quarantine is at a government facility at your expense.

Even for those not subject to quarantine, the restrictions on activities seem sufficiently rigid and violations carry a potential jail sentence.

I can't ever remember installing myself in Nassau for more than a day. Always off to the Exumas, Eleuthera etc., whether for day cruises or longer. How can one go for a week of island hopping in a 14-day quarantine? Like many others, I can't just randomly "bake in" ...oh let's see... just an extra couple of weeks into my plans simply so I can stare at a hotel room ceiling while I count down the seconds from Q-14. This ain't no time to go "recreating" I suppose.

Bahamas Ministry Of Tourism & Aviation Statement On Border Closure To The United States Due To COVID-19

NASSAU, Bahamas, July 20, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Due to the continued increase in COVID-19 cases in the United States, as well as an uptick in cases in The Bahamas, Prime Minister, The Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis, has made the difficult decision to close borders to international commercial flights and commercial vessels carrying passengers from the United States. The order is effective as of Wednesday, July 22 at midnight. In addition, Bahamasair will cease outgoing flights to the United States, effective immediately.

Outgoing flights will be permitted to accommodate any current visitors scheduled to return to the United States after Wednesday, July 22.

Private flights and charters from the United States, as well as pleasure craft and yachts will be permitted, and travellers from Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Union are exempt from the emergency order. All visitors are required to present a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test from a referenced lab, taken no more than 10 days prior to the date of travel.

Since opening borders to international travel on July 1, The Bahamas has unfortunately experienced a deterioration in conditions relative to COVID-19. These restrictions have been put in place to protect the health and wellbeing of both residents and visitors, which remains of primary importance, and to prevent the spread of the virus throughout The Bahamas.

The Bahamas is reviewing and being guided by the most effective practices from around the world. Reopening of borders will continue to be monitored and guided by The Bahamas government and health officials, based on COVID-19 trends. Link
