PUJ Punta Cana VIP arrival/departure service

Good Day!

We are going to Punta Cana the first week of December with 2 toddlers. The flight is 4.5 hrs so they will be extra challenging in the airport. I was looking at the VIP arrival and departure service for PUJ to help lessen our time in the airport/standing in lines. We will be getting our tourist card ahead of time.

Anyone have experience on how busy the airport is in early December?
Does the service save that much time?
If we buy it we could only afford to do it with either arrival or departure, not both, which would be more worth the money for us?

Thanks!

PUJ is always busy due to the amount of flights arriving/departing at the same time. Nevertheless, it flows quickly and you should not be worried about standing for a long time. IMHO the VIP service at PUJ is overpriced for what you get.

If you still want to book the service, departure will be better than arrival, as it includes a special security checkpoint as well as the departure lounge access.

Just to follow up, we flew into PUJ on a Saturday afternoon and left a week later, also on a Saturday afternoon. We did not get the VIP service. As stated by SDQBound, it is a small airport but seemed to move quickly (we are accustom to BWI and and IAD). They had live entertainment during arrival for our ~20 min wait in the immigration line. That kept the kids busy. We decided to use a porter and that greatly helped with navigating lines and crowds as ours was super knowledgable and motivated. Departure check-in at PUJ with southwest was long, lines for security and immigration were tolerable. We were leaving terminal A, which I understood to not be air conditioned, We were pleasantly surprised that part of the gates were in an air conditioned area. The terminal was super crowded, the bus to the plane and the line to get on the bus was hot and boarding was chaotic.
