5 days Sint Maarten

I am having my family fly into Sint Maarten end of October for 5 full days.

We are with 4 kids 7,11,12,13 and 4 adults. We would like to book a hotel with nice swimming pool and near the beach. We would prefer family rooms but 4 rooms is also ok.

My question is. Where do we stay on the island which which is nice area?

What should we visit on a 1 day sight seeing tour?

With that may days I'd take a day trip to another island such as Saba or if you want fancy you can head to Saint Barthelemy. Visiting both sites is also worth doing. A nice meal in the French side at least once is worth the ride over.

With the age ranges and people you may do better with a house rental on such site as Airbnb. Stay just outside of Phillipsburg is preferred. Simpson Bay, Little Bay or the outer arms for Great Bay wrapping around to Back Bay.

Day trip, Saba island. Can be done via short flight or ferry.

We stayed at Simpson Bay Resort and was great for our family trip.

We rented 2 rooms - a 1 bedroom suite and a 2 bedroom suite

Each room had a full kitchen and living room. Living room had a pull out sofa or murphy beds.

The 2 BR had a king in the master, 2 queens in the 2nd room and 2 murphy beds that folded out in the living room.

the resort has a private beach, pools, fitness center, game rooms, casino, can walk to local restaurants and the grocery store is close by. It's also about 10 minutes from the airport so your travel time is minimal.

Biggest complaint I heard was the location is hilly and WiFi wasn't great, but I had no issue with either.

Highly recommend this place.

Enjoy your trip!

You may want to re check your options. The airport is essentially destroyed ( I am sure limited operations will return for humanitarian needs, but it may be a long time before they are ready for tourists), and most every hotel and building on the island received significant damage.
