Aruba / AUA airport VIP lounge
Does AA still operate this lounge? If so is it only for FC passengers and is AUA the only airport with a similar lounge?

And let me give you the low down on Saturdays. It says it's open till 5p and accessible to USA-bound pax, but that is not the case. I was travelling on a US Airways flight on a Saturday that left around 4p. Well, One of the lounges closed at 2p, so I went to the other one all the way down the concourse.
I was in there about 15 minutes before the dragon told us all to get out as customs was closing the passageway to the concourse for US-bound flights so the Canada and international flights could depart (those pax were being held in a holding pin due to US pre-clearance). AUA airport is a really bizarre layout and the lounge situation is poor on Saturdays.
Really terrible customer service, and the lounge is nothing to write home about. Small, windowless room with some chips and booze.

This thread is destination-specific, and not related to a particular airline, so it has been moved to the proper destination forum.

I'm in the VIP lounge by gate 8 right now. The lounges were both renovated relatively recently. There are very few power outlets and the seating set up is incredibly dense. Beverage selection includes: Balashi, white/red wine single servings, Bacardi, and JW Red. Self-serve.
There is a coffee machine but just reg drip and not espresso. Finger sandwiches available.
The WiFi in the lounge is inferior to the airport free Wifi.
The front desk is very stringent about entry requirements and has turned away a dozen people while I sit in here comfortably with my partner! The airport is packed but there are only 4 people in the lounge at present. There is seating only for ~25.
Overall: a perfectly acceptable Priority Pass lounge and a much needed alternative to the horrible Aruba USA departures area. Would be much better if soup or more substantive snacks were available.
