Or will C1 pullback the credit if ticket is canceled? Also how long after the $300 charge is made through the C1 portal does the credit reimbursement show on account/

I had a car rental that was booked at the Capital One portal... I had to cancel it..

Capital one issued credit.. so far they have not clawed it back.
Credit issued March 8. So far so good.

Sounds promising no clawback as some banks can take 1-2 statement periods or even longer on clawbacks.

Curious--- did you book non-cancellable car rental? All car agencies allow me to hold a reservation and even not charge if I don't show up.
Why did you get charged a full amount for a cancellation?
Wondering if there is a different C1 thread on $300 travel credit usage? I wouldn't;t get the Venture X unless I can flip the travel credit.
Thanks for feedback

Yes, the rental was free cancellation. Full refund.

I do not see a different thread on $300 travel credit usage.

Why would a car rental agency charge your card if you never picked the car up triggering the C1 travel credit?
A charge on card is usually not a transaction until you return the car.

I tried to find the travel portal link on Capital One web (I have Quicksilver card) but couldn't locate it.

The $300 credit is only for pre-paid bookings through the travel portal.

OK, car rental charge or an airline doesn't matter to me
For an airline to work must pick REFUNDABLE to cancel
\Ok---checked web site---FREE Cancelation is an option which should trigger the credit if I cancel.

Thanks------ $395 ---- $300 trick it back-----$95/yr total cost. Sounds ok

Found travel with google......couldnt locate on C1 web site:
https://travel.capitalone.com/hotels/

Excellent saw you got a $200 vacation credit. Plus got the $300 travel credit. You made money!!! $105 lol

Now you need to use the PP "alt lounge" and get $56 of food and you hit the trifecta.

Why were double charged for the car rental? Cancel once then rescheduled a new car rental?
Yes, I booked twice and cancelled twice. The prices on the Capital One Travel portal are outrageous...

I used to "flip" the CHASE CSR card for $300 on airline tickets and AMEX PLAT on incidental for $200 credit using airline ticket cancellation.

Could also "flip" the vacation credit for $200?

Turn those credits to statement credits without a purchase?

Yes, seems definitely possible. No clawback ** yet **

Wasn't that your question?

Reserve AirBnB with 100% cancellation. Cancel after a couple of days.

NO, never kew it worked on AirBNB....reason as this is NOT current benefit by C1------canceled March 2022(points guy)

Seem your statement date for credit in March 8----vacation credit no longer available.

C1 Venture X $300 Travel Booking credit

$200 in statement credits for vacation rental purchases (e.g., Airbnb and Vrbo) in the first cardholder year has ended. (per the points guy)

SO I guess only the "flip" works only on $300 credit.
