50,000 after $3,000 spend:
https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/travel-and-miles/

Capital One usually does a hard pull with all three credit bureaus.
If you have a security freeze on your report, they generally will not allow you to submit a code for this report to be viewable.

If you've held this card before, it looks like you can get this bonus again. Data points: 1, 2. YMMV

declined for savor card. I'm 4/24. reasons were too many accounts with no balance and too many inquiries.
They are certainly tough.

Miles are now transferable to 12 airline partners.

Capital One has made a massive improvement to the Capital One Venture card (along with VentureOne, Spark Miles and Spark Miles Select) Starting December 1st cardholders now have the ability to transfer Capital One miles to 12 travel programs at a rate of 2 venture miles to 1.5 airline miles. This card also earns 2 venture miles per $1 spent, making it effectively a 1.5x earning card for these programs. The 12 transfer partners are as follows:
  • Aeromexico
  • Aeroplan (Air Canada)
  • Alitalia
  • Avianca
  • Cathay Pacific
  • Etihad Airways
  • EVA Air, Finnair
  • Flying Blue (Air France and KLM)
  • Hainan Airlines
  • Qantas
  • Qatar Airways
Capital One has also stated that they plan to add more transfer partners on a regular basis. Capital One is also offering an increased sign up bonus of 75,000 points on the Capital One Venture card to celebrate the announcement of this new program.

Do any of the Capital One credits marketed in Canada have this feature? If not, any chance that Cap One will expand the Venture card to Canada?

Pretty surprised. 5/24 with a 790 credit score and was denied for the Venture card. Did i miss something in the terms or limits? Have quite a bit of credit outstanding, very low utilization.

They're just pretty stingy overall. I think they target people who are likely to hold a balance and accrue interest.

yes they are. my wife applied and was denied for having too much recent activity. she's at 4/24 and 850 score. we don't carry balances on any cards. she was denied a year ago for Spark for same reason. I have Spark (since 2011) and Venture (since 2014) and wonder if that's part of the reason she's being denied?

Any reliable reports of successful Capital One reconsideration? Anyone know of a way to actually speak with a reconsideration representative?

Average 15 new accounts annually for the past 10 years, 20/24, many reconsideration discussions with AmEx, Chase, Citi, BOA, Barclays. First ever application for a Cap One card, declined (as expected) for “too many new accounts”, 4-5 calls so far without being able to speak with anyone about reconsideration. They offer to send a re-processing request to the “back office”, tell me I cannot speak with anyone in the back office, and the back office will not call me. Read somewhere that Cap One does not do reconsideration, guess it’s like hitting your head against a wall.

Don't waste your time. They do not reconsider, and when you submit for "recon" (which is just running it through the computer again to be denied, really), you will get additional HPs. Capital One doesn't operate like Amex, Citi, BOA, etc where you can plead your case.

Just give up on this one IMO.

Hmmm I'm at 4/24 and was debating taking advantage of that 75k bonus. My Transunion score is 813 per Chase with 3% utilization, so sounds like I'm not likely to get approved.

Possible but maybe worth a try since you're at 4/24 & that is not many new accounts. 1 HP won't affect your score very much. Your call of course.

Cap 1 is adding transfer partners soon. None are US based though.

Data point: At 4/24, and having previously opened this card in 2015, I received a mailer (with mis-spelled name) offering 60,000 miles. I applied and was instantly rejected. In fact, with a slow 2016, I'm at 4/36 with excellent credit and income.

How tight are they on business accounts? Family has a business that's getting off the ground with little income at the moment. Worth an app to the spark card??
