+1 Having this same issue. Really frustrating that C1 can't seem to solve what should be a relatively easy issue to fix (ie allow for calling with the code). Anyone figure out any kind of workaround -- calling CS is useless -- they have no idea what to do/say.

Bumping this up. I'm running into the same problem. Some on Reddit say that the issue should auto-resolve within 30 days or so, so I still have 2-3 weeks to go but wondering if someone figured out an alternative.

Bumping… did anyone get around this issue?

I went through the the ignorant or lying CSR and spoke to a digital support person.
The error message is wrong. It's fraud protection. It should resolve itself in a month. The suggestion is to check daily. It sounds like it's updated overnight but he wouldn't confirm.

THEY CAN'T MANUALLY PROCESS THE TRANSFER. THEY CAN'T AUTHENTICATE USING ANY OTHER METHOD. THEY WON'T COMPENSATE YOU. THEY WON'T EVEN REFUND PART OF YOUR ANNUAL FEE.

I'm going to lose business seats.
Edited to add digital support # 866 750 0873
You'll be politely told they can't help you

In the middle of this issue. Endless loop of being kicked off the website once I click on transferring points from the rewards page. I have spent hours being bounced around customer support to rewards specialist to tech support. Tried Chrome, Firefox, C1 app. Same... Checked my Verizon identity verification setting "on". Given up and will come up with an alternative plan for my tickets. Filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Perhaps there is a class action here?

FYI, just called a class action law firm... see if goes anywhere.

Same issue still

I'm having issues making changes to my account due to this authentication problem. I have total wireless. So it doesn't seem to work with prepaid either. However, I was able to add a phone number via the app. I downloaded the app (android), logged in, went to profile, add number. It gave me the same authentication message, which again didn't work with text. There was an option to tap the credit card to the phone. So I followed the instructions, had to take off my phone case, and it worked. I was able to add a new number this way. I have not tried other things yet. So it might work for the transfer issue too. Hope it helps someone.

Phone wouldn't charge, got replacement phone, same phone number.

Now can't transfer points, no one can help. Told "the system has to update phone records to reflect your number". Can take a month per reddit.

Joke of a bank.

I ported my phone number today from T-Mobile to a Verizon MVNO and immediately got blocked by this system. It is one of the most aggressive restrictions I have ever seen and makes no sense -- it is the same phone number I have been using with Capital One forever! Some phone reps will tell you that you can still transfer points over the phone and they will transfer you, but this is not true.

It appears you must wait 30 days after it detects any changes from your cellular provider.
