Hmmm... look what we've got down here! Maybe it's time to "restart" this forum because I HATE Aeroplan!!
|
I was cleaning up my desk yesterday and came across my old Canadian card... shed a tear. Those were the days.
|
Yes - the cards with the Proud Wings concept. I still keep that for old times sake.
|
Memories of an airline and its people that truly cared about their customers. Oh those were the good old days!!
|
The old Canadian lounge in the U.S. terminal in YVR is now the new Alaska lounge. Same furniture, everything. It is a fond flashback.
|
Wow--
We've resurrected the old CP forum. Now, if we could only resurrect the old CP Airlines!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ------------------ 'Tis better to have played and won, then never to have played at all. Jeff |
ugh. ugly orange striped planes - no thanks!
but the goose on the side of the Canadian planes was one of the paint schemes that I really liked. Too bad Scare Canada didn't give it a chance to fly. |
Geez, who turned the lights on in here? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
|
From New York...permit me to share my sentiments. Wish Canadian was still here. There's a gaping hole. Personally, I find that AC is the pits, but that's what one gets when it tries to emulate UA. FWIW.
|
AAAH!!
The Good Old Days. Good food, served from a Trolly by polite people. Those wonderfull wraps, and pastries served hot, in the Lounge at "meal times". Warm Scones, Strawberry Jam, Clotted Cream. Cheese, Grapes & Port. Brings a tear to my Eyes. Memories. Stewart. |
We were at YYZ this afternoon, and saw a CP F-28 take-off from runway 23. It still had the old paintjob ( > , plus the grey and blue) on it. Guess AC forgot about this one, or it's soon to be out of service, and they didn't bother repainting it. Sad.

I would be curious to find out if there are still CP livery aircraft out there. I know regional still flies the old colours - until they Jazz these up. Not too long ago I saw an A320 with the ProudWings motif.
I guess we'll soon be joined by Ansett in this part of flyertalk!! |
There are still a few 737's that have the
old paint scheme but that is it. I don't think there are any other planes out there. Also in regards to good old cp being gone. Alot of people never appreciated them when they were here now they have to live with the outcome. |
I thought that this thread was inactive.
Easter Monday, I saw an aircraft in the old CP livery. It was in the distance and I could.t make out the type. |
You know, I never had good experiences with flying CP. I miss them though 'cause they kept Air Canada in line.

The responses on this board are civilized.
Much better than on the Aeroplan board. Another strike against AC,they have taken away our civility. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif |
The livery lives! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Check out www.canadiannorth.com Canadi<n North still flies with the old livery, and doesn't seem to have plans to change. Perhaps they can start service down South? |

Oh WOW, I didn't realize this forum is reactive again. How nice. I can still merely remember those friendly faces I encountered in the past, especially that Western male FA who could speak Cantonese onboard CP7 few years back (I wonder whether he's still with AC or not). Those were the days. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Maybe we should all move back here, its comfy and warm, it sort of feels like home. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Agincourt, Canadian had an excellent in-house Chinese language school. A friend of mine was the son of a CP pilot, and was allowed to go through it.

AC has kept the school to some extent but
to my knowledge it is not the same. Before it was taught using a new system where you would take a class for 5 days and 8 hours a day. That would allow you to complete one level and usually in a language there were 3-4 levels to make you fluent. I think now it has been reduced to some *******ized form. If anyone know differently and I am wrong please correct me. |
Does AC offer any other language/culture training?
|
Back! Back to AC! Don't pollute this with AC posts! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
|
This Forum is strictly for sweet, gentle, generous, airlines of the 20th Century, not those horrible moneygrubbing modern 21st-century organizations!

I sure miss Canadian Airlines, I worked for the tour arm of the airline which was called Canadian Holidays.
Both of these companies were part of the Canadian Airlines Corporation and both provided excellent service to the passengers. I for one thought the inflight service was gracious and the staff very friendly. Those were the days !! Stewart / LAS |
sorry I have to keep this thread going it
breaks my heart when it disappers |
