BA is a Viable OneWorld Option to CP

I have always found OneWorld far supeior to Star Alliance. Since CP dropped out of OneWorld earlier this month - leaving no Canadian airline in the OneWorld alliance - I approached BA as a Platinum member of CP.

They were most accommodating and I have joined their FF program. Hopefully one of the emerging new Canadian carriers will pick up on OneWorld paving the way for accruing OneWorld points on domestic flights in Canada.

Don't have the card yet but I am almost certain that it is Gold - can confirm once I get the card.

Which office did you call? I tried a UK & a Canadian number today and was told no on both occasions.

Watch for fare classes in coach class not being eligible for mileage and/or elite level qualification in the BA scheme.

They do give miles for most discount fares for Canadian members but, as you point out, not EC points for elite status.

I called the Toronto office on the basis of being a platinum member with CP for the past two years.
