ANSETT AUSTRALIA NEWEST CDN PLUS PARTNER

In the May/June Canadian Plus Newsletter, Ansett Australia is being welcomed to CPlus effective July 1st. Apparently, this will coincide with the new CP service to SYD via HNL from both YYZ and YVR on July 3rd.

I am feeling a bit better about the whole OW departure...now if Amex would only swallow their pride and come back! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Canadian Airlines is set to inaugurate new daily flights between Honolulu and Sydney, Australia, beginning July 3.

"Last year brought an increase in the number of visitors from Australia, and with new air service, we anticipate a surge of renewed interest in Hawaii from Down Under," Tony Vericella, president and chief executive officer of the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, said Wednesday.

This sounds as if CP will be using Ansett's international Golden Wing lounge at SYD for J-class passengers (and eligible elites) when service starts up next month. Is this true, or will it be Air New Zealand's lounge (which can now be used as a STAR partner lounge).

I emailed CPlus yesterday and inquire about what kind of fares are eligible for points and was told no details were available and only full fare J and Y are eligible.

Luckily, we have A Flygirl here to let us know that all fare are eligible!!

Thanx... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
