Chaos at Canadian Regional

Strange reports in the National/Financial Post about Canadian Regional losing its pilots in droves as they jump ship (er, plane) to take jobs with other carriers. Seems the fate of the carrier is so up in the air that pilots cannot afford to pass up all the openings coming up for experienced pilots at places like WestJet, Canada3000 and the new RootsAir.

Canadian Regional say they are "training" replacements -- yikes, that doesn't sound encouraging for those of us having to fly on that carrier -- but as many as 30% of flights a day have had to be cancelled for lack of staff.

Wonder if FAs are doing the same thing? Surely they should get first crack at many of those new AC transborder jobs -- Milton, in another article stressed how AC was being so fair to CP employees by giving them wage parity with AC staffers (commenting on AC pilots' concerns about his trying to break the union by setting up additional carriers paying lower wages) -- though these AC positions may be at entry level salaries, and thus not of interest to more senior Canadian Regional FAs. But surely they get paid less than Cdn's FAs, no?
