HKG-KUL = 16 Miles / CP Points
My dad decided to do a short trip from HKG-KUL on May 25, returned on May 30. All travel was done on CX G-Class fare.
Checked cdnair.ca today and the miles given to him was SIXTEEN MILES (16) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif ?! That's the distance from HKG downtown to the airport.

It all depends on where your dad's address is. There's something on Canadian's webpage about earning points for non-Canadian residents for fares in G class - which is something like a Group fare. And that it earns only 1/100 of a point or something like that.
