Power plugs on 747s
Just want to know whether anyone have been on CP's 747 lately. I am travelling next week YYZ-HKG in J class and would like to know whether they have installed power plugs for laptop in their J class seats yet and whether they have those plugs onboard for our use. I know the 767s and 320 have them. The last time I was on a 747 was 2 months ago and it was not a proud wings aircraft and it didn't have any plugs. It would be nice to at least get some work done on the 14 hr leg between YVR-HKG. Or should I ask the conceirge to figure out for me on the day of travel?
Just my thought on CP selling their NRT slots to AC. I think this is what AC's been dreaming of ever since CP got those routes. However, I think CP is going to keep the HKG slots as the last possible resort because those are their most profitable routes. CP must be doing really bad lately in order to do this and have seat sale in the middle of the christmas season. Regards, Empress |
Hi Empress,
I think Canadian has replaced all its Boeing 744s with the new seat and laptop plug. My mother and my sister were on one of its C class in July and their seats have all the good things... I think you should confirm the info with Canadian's website and the cocierge. CP only have four Boeing 747s and I don't see how the refurbishment will take that long. About CP's YYZ-NRT route, I think AC has wanted the NRT route for a while... AC gets the rights to fly YYZ-HKG a while ago... but I think AC will finally start that route now. Expanding into the Asian sky through the East Coast... also KIX-YYZ seasonal summer route is doing alright. About HKG-YVR route, CP will definitely held on to it until the every last possible chance. CX will have a major headache if AC is flying into HKG, because there are some major competitions going. CX's flight to YYZ is not that profitable because of the seasonal nature of that route, but with AC's joining the market, there will be some interesting thing happen there. Anyway, have a good trip to HKG! |
Air Canada is already talking about possible routes that CP does not serve...Vancouver-Shanghai, Toronto-Madrid, Toronto-Amsterdam. Does this sound like an airline that wants to keep CP 'seperate' or is it dangling the carrot in front of the donkey and slowly sell its routes one by one, with the promise of a final takeover? More likely that AC will let CP die an agonising death.
I am still wondering how the other oneWorld partners are sleeping at night knowing that one of their partners is slowly being fed to the wolves and they're not doing anything about it. |
