I will definitely be there, along with my husband (who is an actual runner). I'll be just wandering randomly and looking at planes and so forth. I hope they don't demand that I actually run!

If you don't wish to run, you can walk. It is also a 2KM walk. That is what I am planning to do. Speaking of 'Do's', could this be???

I wish I could go but I'll be celebrating my 25th birthday that day in an upgraded rental car. ^ Sounds like fun!

Just curious, how are flight schedules handled if 24L is closed off?

Because horns on airplanes are expensive optional equipment, the captain leans out the window and yells "Hey! Get out of the way!" People then scoot to the side of the runway and the plane lands.

Some replies I got from Jana at GTAA

Thank you for your interest in the Runway Run! In answer to your questions:

1) Yes, free parking is offered. We invite participants to park in our Administration Building parking lot at 3111 Convair, which is at the corner of Hwy 401/ Hwy 427. There is plenty of space. For a map, see the “More Race Details” link on the Runway Run webpages: www.GTAA.com/runwayrun.

2) The run/walk will take place on Runway 06R-24L, and you will be entering the event site on this side of the airfield (southeast).

3) Absolutely, bring your camera! It’s a great way to share the experience with your friends and family (or bring them along with you!).

Just a hint – the early bird prices end as of March 31, so if you’re interested in signing up, you might want to do that before it changes over to April.

Hope to see you at the event,

Jana Schmidt

Judging by the photo gallery (http://www.gtaa.com/en/community_rel...photo_gallery/), it appears that 24R is still open if the prevailing winds are appropriate. I hope this is the case!

Oh ok, that's what I'd figured, but I wasn't sure.

So do these pilots have extraordinary lung capacity to yell over the engines or will Captain Pearson be handling the landing duties that day, Gimli-style?
