Question about Penticton hotels

It's been a long time since I've had to stay in Penticton. I've got to attend a conference at the Penticton Conference centre and was wondering what's the best hotel in terms of comfort and location?

I seem to remember there used to be a Sheraton in Penticton but couldn't find it on the SPG site (or anywhere else). Must be long gone by now.

Tripadvisor says the #1 hotel is Ramada, so I'm not keeping my hopes up. :p

Any help in this regard appreciated.

This one seems good:

Penticton Lakeside Resort, Convention Centre & Casino

Thanks. Saw that one and it seemed to get good reviews.

Penticton hasn't seen a Sheraton in the 19 years I've been here. The Penticton Lakeside Resort used to be a Coast, may moons ago. It is a lakefron property, couple of restaurants, great bar/pub/patio, casino, meeting rooms, walking distance to downtown.

The Ramada in Penticton is like no other Ramada I have seen anywhere. Very very nice. Adjacent to golf course, very good pub on property, huge grounds/greenspace/pool, ideal for families as well as others. Walk to beach, Tim Hortons (one of four), River Channel bike/walking path.

I know the owners of both properties. In both cases, the owners are on the respective properties each day and take a great deal of pride in their product. It shows.

Thanks, taupo!

Didn't mean to slam the Ramada. I'm sure it's a great hotel.

I have stayed in some nasty Ramadas, you have every reason to be sceptical.
