AMEX cardholders can use the front of the line service to book directly with the restaurant on January 8 and 9. Reservations for non-AMEX cardholders begin on January 10. The starting time for reservations varies with each restaurant. Maximum number of people per reservation tends to vary between 4 and 6.

From my own experience over the years, the following points are in order. Spots at the elite restaurants, e.g. Truffles, Canoe and Auberge du Pommier go very quickly. The real value is the $20 lunch at the top tier restaurants. There is a lot of variation within the top tier ($20 lunch/$35 dinner). Below the elite level are some very good restaurants such as Wildfire and Pangaea. A third level, I would describe as wannabe such as the Bier Markt or Bloom.
