Time to return car @ YYZ
 

Even though I've lived in Toronto for 3+ years now, I've never had to return a car rental at the airport. I'm wondering how long it should take from the car rental return (I'm using Budget) to the security line (T3 this week, and T1 next week)...

Oh, and I'm arriving with only carry-on for a 7am domestic flight.

6 to 7 minutes for T1. Dunno about T3.

The 7am domestic flight, as suggested about a 7 minute walk, so the length of time depends on how busy Budget is in the morning. You can stay on the second level, print your boarding card and head through the second level security which typically is less busy. Haven't been through at 7am in a while though.

return the car on the GROUND level at T1 at the Budget lot. Exit car. Agent will inspect vehicle, close file and give you your receipt. Head inside then take elevator to 5th floor or parking garage then walk across skywalk to termnal where you will arrive on level 2 with the kisoks to your right, then head to security.

total time from entering budget lot to security is 9-12 minutes depending on how fast a walker you are...

or you could check in from home and after returning the car, walk across to the AVIS lot and walk outside to the terminal then take the elevator up from the ground level... time saved 30 second elevator ride and wait...
