360 The Restaurant at the CN Tower, Toronto

Is the food at 360 The Restaurant at the CN Tower in Toronto any good? ... or shall I just take the elevator to to the main observation levels (and have lunch, dinner somewhere else)?
Thanks!

It's kind of fun to watch the city pass by as you dine, but the food's over-rated and the prices are high. I'd just do the observation deck and then look for food elsewhere---there is plenty of good eating to be had in TO.

I found the food to be better than I expected. Understand that the restaurant is trying to be haute cuisine, fancy food for dates and business dinners and is priced accordingly. Given that is it overpriced? not really, it's within the range with other restaurants in that category, maybe a little pricey but not a rip off. Compared to other restaurants in this category I found the menu to be a little stodgy, if you are looking for a quality cuisine experience with a view go to Canoe or Panorama. If you're expecting somewhere to get a sandwich or a burger while you do tourist stuff then this is not it.

Thanks for the replies.
When the weather is good we will give "The 360 Restaurant at the CN Tower" a try .. the ride to the main observation levels is already $20/person!

This sounds good ... even a cook with "two left hands" can't spoil it much:

For Mrs. USAFAN ...
PAN SEARED FILLET OF ATLANTIC SALMON ON WILTED BABY SPINACH
Creamer potatoes, coriander sprouts, toasted pumpkin seeds, warm green tomato vinaigrette $34

For me ....
SPAGHETTI WITH BASIL GRILLED TIGER PRAWNS
Sweet cherry tomatoes, Chilean chili paste, cracked green olives $38

OK, he can overcook the spaghetti ... I may have also the salmon **)

So, lets hope the weather is good end of July.

In Europe some say: When in North America eat Three S - Seafood, Salat, Steak .. and you can't go wrong!;)

Thanks again ..

I have eaten Canoe once and the food is excellent. The prices can be fairly intimidating as well, especially the mark ups on wine. The website for Canoe is www.canoerestaurant.com. Please note that Canoe participates in Summerlicious which runs between July 6 and 22 so you would be next to impossible to get a reservation for that period of time. 360 does not participate so one should be able to get reservations fairly easily. Both have excellent cellars.

I agree with this assessment. Usually restaurants in theme buildings... well, totally suck. 360 was actually above average.... still expensive, but I quite enjoyed the meal, which is a huge plus to the terrific view.

RE: Summerlicious, July 6 - 22

Just wanted to mention that I started a thread regarding Summerlicious in the Toronto forum a couple of weeks ago. It has the the link to the City of Toronto website with the participating restaurants.
