Parking at YVR

Looking for suggestions for parking at YVR.

We can't find anyone to drop us off and we don't want to cab it so we're going to leave the car at the airport for the four days we'll be away. I've used Park'N Fly a half dozen or so times in the past and don't have any complaints about the experiences. They are looking for $13.95/day with their coupon.

I just did some research and found that YVR offerred a long term lot for $8.50/day and an economy lot (just beyone the hourly parkade) for $10.62/day with a coupon.

All three lots indicate they are security patrolled, give 250 Aeroplan points, and provide 24hr shuttle service to the terminals (except for the economy lot which is within walking distance).

Wondering if anyone has had any recent experiences with using YVR's lots?

If I drive, I always park at the YVR long-term lot. There are 24 hour shuttle buses and they run quite regularly, at least when I've used them.

There is a minimum "stay" required before the Aeroplan points are awarded but I forget what that was.

No complaints at all other than the lot is quite full most of the time.

Thanks for the feedback. Might have to give it a try then.

I've used LT parking 3x. It's o.k. Not the fastest shuttle wise but I haven't used anyone else other than some outfit under the Oak Street bridge in Vancouver just once. You can self checkin for selected airlines while waiting at the bu stop if you haven't web checkedin already. I do believe the AC miles requirement is a minimum stay of 4 days.

Depending on where you live & time of travel, getting a taxi may be more convenient at slightly-greater expense.

We're back and we used YVR's long term parking. The lot was ok. Didn't think the lighting was the greatest but was adequate. They still had mounds of snow in the lot which made for parking in some spots a pain.

We didn't have to wait for the shuttle to long. To the terminal, we missed the first shuttle because it was full but only waited another 5 mins before the next terminal. The shuttle was at its pickup spot when we returned so no wait then. However, it was packed with some people having to stand.

Payment and exit was relatively quick but not as fast as Park'N Fly. They only had one cashier lane. We waited behind 3 cars for a few minutes. Cost for four days was under $40 and I got my Aeroplan points.

I'd probably use it again. However, I do like the convenience of the valet service at Park'N Fly where they have your car waiting and you just jump in and go (of course you're prepaying and needing to call when you arrive back in town).

Do happen to have the name of the company that provides the airport parking under the Oak St. Bridge? I've used them a number of years ago and found them to be quite reasonable.

I'm thinking about driving up from Seattle to fly YVR-KOA. Any suggestions for airport parking for a 4-day stay.

I'm a fan of Park 'n Fly. Their shuttles run frequently, and when you return you phone them once you're off the plane and punch in a code on your ticket. When you arrive at their lot they have your car ready, with the heater running and windows defrosted.

Bumping up this old thread rather than starting a new one with specific reference to YVR Park N Fly:

A few months ago I got an e-mail from them saying my loyalty points had expired since we hadn't stayed with them in awhile. That was disappointing but it's still a good place to park when we fly out of YVR.

Just this morning I got an e-mail from them stating I had over 700 points in my account. I logged in and there they are. I can't find any details on the website about points expiring.

Does anybody know when (or if) points expire after a period of inactivity?

Edited to add: I looked more closely and found in their T&Cs that 12 months of inactivity results in closing the account and forfeiting the points. We're actually going to drive up to YVR tomorrow and park there for an afternoon to see if we can save our points.

Doh! You just made me log in to check. I see in my account that I had a chunk of points expire. Although I love their service, I haven't had to use Park N Fly in a while because I've been either dropped off or someone else driving has forked over the $$'s to park in the economy lot. :)
