Help- Transfer time at YVR?

HI, I am travelling through YVR on a Sunday afternoon, from international to domestic.

My inbound intl flight arrives at 15:20, outbound goes at 17:00.

Reading some of the posts on here about customs, I am real worried that I may miss my connection.

Can any kind soul provide me with information on this point?
many thanks
Bill

It could be tight.....

It could be tight but doable. The 2 biggest variables are wait for immigration and baggage wait. For the former, a lot depends on how fast you get off the a/c and what flights have arrived just before yours). Could spend anywhere from nothing to 40+ minutes for this. Baggage often takes time to come out here. Hope you're not picked for a customs inspection which can be a lengthy wait. Depending on which airline you are connecting to, you either recheck your bags after leaving customs hall (applies to AC only) and then proceed to security for your next flight, or go line up to check in for your connecting flight (all other carriers) and then go through security.

You should have adequate time, not necessarily with a comfortable margin, if there are no hold ups.

Where will you be arriving from and connecting to?

Thanks for the reply.

Travelling on AC, from London, connecting to Fort St John BC on Air Jazz.

Travelling with my wife if that makes an difference.

That's an AC to AC connection

So you would recheck your bags at the Air Canada desk after you leave the customs area. I see that your connection flight is also the last one of the day. If you miss the flight, it's AC's problem assuming your flights are on one ticket. Be insistent on meals, hotel and .....

What you can do is request seats as far forward as possible so you can get off the aircraft quickly at YVR, and walk fast/run to immigration. That along could save 10 minutes in immigration wait (seems the times for residents & non-residents are almost the same.)

Hang on to your LHR-YVR boarding passes so you don't have to pay the $5 AIF (and also the Fort St. John-YVR BPs to save C$15 on the way home).

thanks so much for the advice.

I hope it doesn't come to the meals/hotel issue.
