Quebec City hotel question

I'm not sure if any posters here are from Quebec City, but I have a very specific question:

Pre-covid, I stayed several times at a lovely little hotel in town called Maison du Fort, very close to the Chateau Frontenac. I'm going to be in town again next month, and I'd like to return, but the hotel doesn't seem to be bookable.

The website is still up and running, and the hotel shows up in all the booking sites. Yet on any site I look at, it says unavailable/sold out for all dates. And when I've tried calling the property directly, the phone numbers (both toll-free and local) don't work.

I guess that means they probably closed, but I'm hoping against hope that that's not the case. More importantly, the owner Marielle is wonderfully kind and gracious, and I hope she's alright!

It's probably a longshot, but I wanted to see if anyone here knows anything. Thanks!

Salut,

I have reason to believe that Marielle may sold to a buyer back in December 2021 and may no longer be involved in the day to day ops of Maison du Fort.

It is odd that no one is picking the phone.

Ah ok - that would explain it! On Friday I also tried to call the QC tourist bureau, but no one would actually answer the phone even though it was normal business hours - I just got stuck in their recorded message loop. So I was starting to worry that the city had somehow fallen into the river or something...

I'm pretty sad that it looks like the hotel isn't available, as I always very much enjoyed staying there. I guess I need to come up with a Plan B :(

Thanks for your info!

I called today to get more information. Both phone numbers are out of service i.e. it is reasonable to assume it is closed.
