Was YYZ fogged out and closed for landings tonight?(2nd November). EVA has diverted to JFK and I was told that it was due to fog and they could not land.

I’m here visiting and there have been a couple nights in the past week with zero visibility. Right now I would estimate less than 1/4 mile visibility and I’m on the 19th floor of a building

“Officials at Pearson Airport in Mississauga say extremely foggy conditions that reduced the number of inbound flights last night may continue to affect all flights this morning (Nov. 3).

“Last night, NavCanada reduced the flow of flight arrivals at Pearson due to the heavy fog, which presented potentially dangerous conditions for landing.”

Welcome!

Yes, foggy last few days at night and in the morning. Last couple nights I've been out even driving has been a little challenging.

I just looked out the window now at 215PM and I would estimate 1/2 to 3/4 mile visibility at best from about 200' up in my building - not a good situation for the airport, but then again the fog seems to be localized so maybe the airport is clearer.

Yes, heavy fog for the whole week around the GTA.
You can confirm this with any weather map.
BR diverted to JFK as they have an operation there to deal with this.
