Long YVR layover--aquarium?
 

In two weeks we (family) are are going SEA-YVR-LHR. Because of ACs appalling on time performance on the SEA-YVR flight, we are taking the earlier one and have a 7hr connection in YVR.

With that long of a connection, we can go to the MLL, but what else? Is there enough time to go to the aquarium? And if so, how long is an appropriate amount of time to see the aquarium?

The "aquarium" at YVR is one single(but large) tank that's open in the food court atrium. There isn't much to do otherwise in YVR's INTL terminal but you can explore the new Pier D expansion which has a children's play area.

If you're talking about the big Vancouver Aquarium, it's technically doable; it's about an hour to the Aquarium by transit (taking the Canada Line to Waterfront, and the 19 bus to Stanley Park). If you time it right, you could go there, spend 1–2 hours at the Aquarium, and still get back ~3hr before your flight.

You could take an uber depending on the size of your group and it would take about 40 minutes as long as you aren't in rush hour traffic (Then public transit wins) and yes 2 hours is enough time to see the aquarium. Science World is another option with a slightly shorter travel time which is good because you will want the extra time there.

Yes, I was referring to the one at Stanley Park. I haven't been there in 30 years...pathetic considering I can drive there in an afternoon.

ANYWAY, I was thinking about an uber or something as opposed to the bus.

Having never transited through YVR, is there a place we can put our bags for safe keeping?

I assume bigger pieces of luggage would be checked through to LHR but regardless, there is a spot downstairs right after you exit the secured area, near the Tim Hortons. I've used them on many occasions and have always been satisfied and it looks like they are still open for business these days:

With a multitude of people over 12, it'll be just as cheap to take a taxi than transit (close to $10 per adult if not on a weekend) from the airport. Cheaper going back.

It's roughly $11-$15/piece depending on size.
