My kids are dual citizens and for 30+ years have never once owned a Cdn passport.The US won’t allow entry on it.

From https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/docu...al-citizenship, it sounds like that's a very specific exception to normal citizen passport requirements -- dual US/Canada citizens can use a US passport to enter (presumably there's enough data sharing that Canada is able to positively match the citizenship).

The key is that US passport is then the "travel document you used to enter Canada" that you'd use to board a domestic Canadian flight.

I have boarded many Cdn domestic flights with my US drivers license and no passport. Never been an issue.
