Flying to Ottawa

Does anyone know if Air Canada or any other airline will fly direct Ottawa from UK in the near future? I seem to remember Air Canada did fly direct from London pre Covid ?
Flying to Toronto then West jet to Ottawa seems the only option just now. I did try asking Air Canada but impossible to speak to anyone ....
Thanks

Particularly in winter I'd doubt there's the market to run direct services to Ottawa, but there are certainly multiple carriers for the very short onward flight from both Pearson and Billy Bishop - Air Canada, Westjet and Porter all serve the route with several flights per day each.

In addition there's the option of a surface sector by ViaRail, about a 4h45 journey.

My guess is May 2022 at the earliest for YOW getting a Trans-Atlantic route back. Sooner would be great thou :)

I'm sure it will come back along with all the other former ex-Canada/LHR flights. I often did 888/889. :)

An alternative is to fly to Montreal and take the train to Ottawa - did this multiple times and it's way more lovely (nice "biz class") than AC for Montreal/Ottawa.
The ViaRail route is about 2-2.5h.

(Sidenote: free bus shuttle from airport to station .. ~5min transfer. But stay at airport as long as possible, the "lounge" at the station is a laughing stock :) )

KLM will include a bus or train to YUL on a ticket to Amsterdam https://www.klm.com/travel/ch_en/pla...cket/index.htm

It was almost always a 767 route, no? I suppose it may be a 787-8 when it returns?

Two important fact checks:
- VIA Rail is 1.5 h from Dorval to Ottawa.. I did it last month, in fact:

- While I agree there are more amenities @ YUL, the shuttle bus does not run on a fixed schedule. So relying on it for a tight cnx. could be problematic. On my trip in September, I ended up taking a ghost cab to the VIA Rail Station - cost me $17 and then the train was late! (which it is tonight BTW)..

The other option is, of course, flying to the US and transting IAD or EWR.

Yes, when I flew that route it was almost always a 763.
