Transborder connection at YYZ - is anything open?

Flying TLV-YYZ-EWR

Is anything open in the transborder area? I understand that the MLL is closed, do AC give any vouchers?

Any suggestions for a three hour connection?

YYZ1313 Jun 6, 2021 10:08 am

When is this?

Right now, I don't think much is open and AC isn't given out vouchers because the lounge is closed.

Later this week... Not even coffee?

Situation as of June 7, 07:30: Starbucks, Cibo Express and Indigo are open in the F60 area. Cibo Express is not serving at the tables, the food and drink items have to be picked up at their counter. Indigo is obviously a book store, but they have some snacks and drinks too.

What meal options are open at YYZ right now?

Flying YYZ-LGA at 2:20pm tomorrow and need to show up a few hours early for my covid test. Two questions:

YYZC2 Jul 3, 2021 3:57 pm

Pre-security:

Nothing open on the departures level.

Subway on the mezzanine level is 24 hours.

Tim Horton's at Domestic Arrivals is 04:00-22:00 (formerly 24 hours).

Starbucks at International Arrivals is also on reduced hours from the previous 24H schedule (I want to say it closes at 20:00).

7-11 near Domestic Arrivals is open 24H.

In the TB gate area I believe Tim's is your only option but will follow up as things are changing quickly and I rarely get out that way.

EDIT: Reliable sources tell me TB gates has Tim's, Sbux and the Hearth as available options.

Wow this sounds pretty dire. Sigh. Should be a fun 4 hours between my test and departure.

Thanks for the intel!

Gonna tag on here, and see if there are any updates recently. Planning on coming through T1 transborder in mid-Oct, but wanted to hear of any updates, specifically on:

- Anybody heard rumors on if the Plaza Premium (T1 transborder) Lounge will re-open any time soon - I do see now that both domestic and international are open, as is the MLLs in both those areas, as well as the ‘Express’ TB MLL, though I’m unclear what that is and won’t have access anyway. I think the PP international being open is relatively new, and maybe, just maybe, having a TB MLL might push PP to opening sooner rather than later? While on the TB PP topic, anyone know if they are planning on remaining in the ‘temporary’ location [by F55?], or if they are going to have a more permanent space again, either downstairs where they used to be, or elsewhere?).
- Is Tim Hortons (by gate F67 or so) open? Pearson’s site (as ofnyesterday)?seems to indicate most of the other ones are open (pre-security, domestic, etc.) but didn’t see the Post-security TB location listed.

any other notes worth mentioning - I used to fly transborder out of Pearson multiple times a year, but last time I was through was Jan. 2020.

What to do at YYZ?

If you have a long layover (5+ hours) at YYZ, what is there to do? I don't know if all lounges are opened at the moment and if there are capacity limits. I got Priority Pass and *G. I notice that there are restaurants participating in the PP program so I'll definitely visit those. Any places to lie down and take a nap? I rather not take the train into the city and burn some time.

There is a Sheraton attached to T3 if you want to catch a nap. You can also take the UP downtown to Union Station but watch your time. 5 hours can go very fast.

Is there a day rate? Like I said, I rather not take the UP since 5-6 hours will go by very quickly in that scenario. Any lounges with comfy seats to take a nap? Too bad YYZ isn't like SIN. I can't imagine going bored there. lol.

YYZ has very few amenities pre-security. Even less so since covid started. Walking around I see 5-10 employees for every traveller.

What about post-security?

T1 (AC/UA) has a lot more than T3 (WS, DL, AA).

Dont know if this is 100% up-to-date by the day, but the airport website has this as a resource: https://www.torontopearson.com/en/re...at-the-airport. If you pick what you’re looking for (eat, shop, etc.), and then select your airline and destination, it will limit it to what’s at your part of the airport.

In response to my upthread post, appears that PP transborder lounge at T1 is open again now. Starbucks and some the restaurants, as well.
