I heard one data-point where for a fully-vaccinated family, all but one had "I" on their ArriveCan receipts. The other one was "A". The "A" had to do the test and quarantine until the results came in. The "I"s did not.

There's a trip to Canada I want to take within 14 days of being in Dublin, and if I can actually tell before boarding my flight whether I'll likely have to do the test and quarantine, then I'm willing to take the risk. The trip is not long enough to handle any length of quarantine.
The "A" on the ArriveCan receipt stands for "QR Authenticated", I got it last time when I uploaded my Canadian qr-code vaccine certificate. I previously got "I" when using non-qr code vaccination proof. So I don't think the code has anything to do with random arrival testing, most likely just a coincidence.

Well, actually ....... no

Means you probably got infected just prior to the flight, possibly even on the flight, just did virus was not active yet when you arrived at YYC, hence the negative test result.

Maybe you got the virus when you waited in line with hundreds of passengers to be tested at the airport... Hope you got better quickly...

Had 40 hours turnaround on 18 Jan in YYC. Was required to take the on arrival test, even though I was arriving from SFO, but on an itinerary originating the EU.

Oh, and I should add - I was never notified of the results. I only know because I kept checking the website every few hours.

Canada’s current travel restrictions don’t make sense

And right now, our processes introduce burden without any meaningful benefit.

Sigh, I (and increasingly more Canadians) agree with the author, but where is the government on this? Canada is becoming more and more out of step with countries like the UK and Denmark.

The government is currently conveniently out of office with COVID.

Hi everyone,

Idk if this is the right place to ask but i'll give it a try.

What's the acronym written on the green/pink sticker they give you at the arrival in Montreal airport?
Is it PHAC or ASPC??

Thanks to anybody that can provide me with an answer

I'm not sure what you're contemplating doing with this information, but just a heads up that the sticker colours vary from day to day. Not sure if the same is true for the acronym 'signature'.

PHAC = Public Health Agency of Canada
ASPC = Agence de la sante publique du Canada

It's the federal public health authority.

Just use psychic paper to bypass testing.

Current restrictions are extended until the end of February I believe. We'll only know if things are changing closer to the end of the month. Most COVID restrictions in Canada come from the provincial level and Canada sees COVID as a much more serious threat than the EU. However, we have elections coming up this year in Ontario and Quebec so I doubt we'll see big clampdowns before then.

Very frustrating and glad I've moved to the UK.
