Toronto airside transfers to BA

Can anyone advise on airside transfers for UK citizens currently? Routing would be PLS-YYZ on Air Canada transferring to YYZ-LHR on British Airways. I understand airside transfers are permitted currently or UK passport holders and assume the interlining of bags would also be in place as passengers would have to remain airside at all times?

On Air Canada you will arrive at Terminal 1 but for BA you will depart from Terminal 3. There is no airside connection between terminals. You will have to enter Canada and take a short train ride from T1 to T3. You will need a negative covid test to get on the Air Canada flight. You need to check if non -Cdn citizens can enter Canada in transit especially if there is a delay and you have to overnight at YYZ. My bet is Canada will not let you in so please check. You might have better luck connecting on Air Canada from YYZ to LHR so you wouldn’t need to formally enter Canada.

I would run this through TIMATIC. We don't know OP's nationality or residence.

Thank you. Country of residence and nationality is the UK. To further explain the reasons for the question - BA have cancelled direct return flight but we have not yet been outside of the UK/EU long enough to transit through the USA as would ordinarily be expected under such circumstances.

This won't be permitted as you would have to enter Canada and go through passport control formalities to do the terminal transfer at YYZ.

As sydneyracquelle mentioned, see if it's possible to be rebooked on an all-AC itinerary, which you could do as both flights would be within Terminal 1. Or transfer in a third country with no restrictions on entry, like Mexico, but then that presents other problems such as obtaining the soon to be required pre-departure PCR test in a timely manner.

Thank you for clarifying. Any pre-departure PCR is not a problem and will be required for UK entry now also.
