YUL transport to downtown late night

I'm headed to Montreal tomorrow and the flight arrives shortly after midnight. What are my cheapest options to downtown (near the Bell Centre) at that point? I'm hoping that Uber would be cheaper than a regular cab, but I want to ask here and make sure.

The 747 runs 24/7, but I'm not sure how frequently it runs that late at night. Taxis have a flat rate of 40$ (w/o tip) from the Airport to Downtown. Not sure how expensive Uber is actually...

The Uber estimator says 31-41 CAD, but I'm sure the prices get bumped up after midnight.

Not necesarily. Uber surge pricing is a function of supply and demand, both of which are dynamic and not linked to the time of day.

Late at night, without traffic, I have often gotten a quick Uber ride for ~$25 to a destination 2 blocks from the Bell Centre.

If you are already a Car2Go member, that could be an option as well.

I didn't realize they had cars available there! I might use it in the city, but we're lugging a large suitcase that won't fit in a smart car.

No guarantees of course but the Montreal fleet do have larger vehicles (Mercedes).

747 schedule is online.

For those not familiar, there are two 747 routes.

One goes only between YUL and Lionel-Groulx metro where you can transfer to other transportation options (other bus or subway). The 747 ticket is essentially a 1 day pass good 747 and other STM bus/subway.

The other 747 route also goes between YUL and Lionel-Groulx but then it goes down Rene Levesque making stops before terminating at Berri-UQAM metro. Many hotels are situated on/near Rene Levesque.

If you’re an Amex card holder I believe they currently have a promotion ongoing with Turo for a free $100 credit.

Take the 747 bus as the budget-friendly option (which is still pretty reliable and probably not too crowded late in the evening).
If you have the money: take a taxi.
