No show on VIA rail
I know this isn't AC, but there isn't anywhere else to post it, and the AC group has, I'm sure expertise on VIA too.
If I no-show for a the outbound portion of a VIA rail return ticket, does it risk cancellation of the return segment, as it would for an AC ticket?

I contacted VIA Rail customer service using the contact form on their website when I wanted to skip the first segment of a two-segment trip.
They answered that in my case, the second segment would NOT have been forfeited if I'd skipped the first segment, but they prefer when customers let them know (via website or telephone) in advance to avoid confusion when the first segment is skipped.
