Vancouver

Any recommendations of where to go and see, especially in terms of photography from Vancouver? Looking to know good spots to see the skyline/mountains/waterfront. Secondly, how easy is it to access wifi around town? Finally, how good is the public transportation?

Also any other travel recommendations and tips unique to the city would be welcomed

Pretty easy. Starbucks / Tim Hortons / McDonalds all have WiFi (McDonalds tends to be universally terrible though.

The City of Vancouver is also rolling out free WiFi -

The phone company (Telus) also operates a network of free hotspots -

The cable company (Shaw) also does, but you often have to be a Shaw subscriber to connect to those.

Quite good. The Translink trip planner is here -

Be sure to pick up a transit Compass Card when you arrive -

Just got back from my first real visit to Vancouver (I was there for Expo in '86 which doesn't really count and once in June '73 with my parents, so that doesn't really count :) )

Found it very easy to get around -- we bought Compass cards at the airport station and used them for the 4 days we were there, including the return trip to the airport. Between the Translink app and Google maps we had no problems getting around.

I have (US) T-Mobile so I had free wireless data -- though slow it worked well enough to get around. Only hitch was the "Sun Run 10K" on Sunday caused some changes in bus service around Stanley Park.
