YVR Transborder to International Transfer Process?
What's involved? Hopefully it's not necessary to go through Canadian immigration. How much time is necessary?
|
Step through the wizard here -
http://www.yvr.ca/en/passengers/navi...ssenger-guides You may or may not have to go through a full CBSA check depending on the hour you arrive. |
Thanks, but the guide does not address our trip. We are merely transferring at YVR.

OK, I found the relevant row (connecting from US to a foreign country) but there are a few issues:
• With that row selected you are asked for departing, not arriving airline - and amazingly Air Canada isn't an option, only their Rouge brand • The link to Customs isn't active in Safari. When you find the Customs tab another way, it's unclear what documentation is necessary and whether you'd be "entering Canada." Annoyingly, after 8 pm you need to go to Canada Arrivals. If there's a line of people genuinely waiting to enter Canada, it's unclear whether you'd have to stand in it as a transit passenger. Perhaps someone can speak to the real-world experience, especially after 8 pm. |
The int'l=> US and v-v transfer isn't active all the time. So yes, you will have to enter Canada outside these hours and there is no prioritized transit line (no secure corridor to int'l). That said, it isn't really that busy at that hour other than flights from the U.S. (IIRC, last int'l other than U.S. arrivals are late afternoon arrivals from TPE.)

Thanks.....any idea what the "pink form" is that you're supposed to complete in conjunction with this process?
