Do I need eTA for canada and ESTA for USA ?

I will be travelling from Germany to Canada on 27th September.

Then few days later I plan to enter USA via road.

and later back to Canada via road. And then after few days flight back to Germany.

Do I need to eTA for Canada or ESTA for USA in my particular case ?

I have a German passport.

eTA for Canada: No, due to leniency period extended until Sept 29th but it is only CAD$7 so you may want to go ahead just to be certain.
ESTA for USA: No.VWP travellers do not require ESTA if arriving by land.

Probably too late a reply to help the OP, but having ESTA speeds up the process at the US land border. There is a US$6 fee levied at the land border.

happy travels.
