On past international-domestic connections at YUL, I've always been able to skip security, but those were all originating Europe. Is OSS limited to certain departure points?

The introduction of OSS but not making it available to all international origins is very annoying. Currently at YUL having just arrived from MEX en route to CAI. There is no one at the security check we need to go through so we just have to wait (15 minutes and counting). This also happened last month at YVR, which was even more frustrating because I was connecting to MEX from FRA so should have been OSS eligible but the lady checking boarding passes admitted it was her first day and wasn't familiar with the rules so was sending me through security "just in case".

Yes. Mexico-origin flights are not included as party to be OSS eligible. US and EU/Schengen origin flights are party to OSS eligibility. Also, UK-origin flights.

I was connecting CAI-YUL-YYZ at YUL today and was surprised they sent me through the OSS line (no additional security). Did they mess up? It was odd because every agent along the way scanned my BP and asked for my origin (which I answered honestly). *shrug*

What are the chances of flights from Japanese airports being added to the OSS program? Canada would be able to do it unilaterally.

Canada and the EU have mutual OSS in place but Canada already unilaterally recognizes U.S. and U.K. aviation security for OSS purposes, so there is precedent.

I have a good friend who's flying (in AC on J) from DEN-YUL, then connecting to a flight on LH from YUL-FRA. The inbound is scheduled to land at YUL at 5:09pm, and the connection departs at 6pm.

That seems awfully tight to me - but I don't transit YUL that much. Thoughts? I'm assuming that OSS will help; will all AC inbounds be automatically cleared for OSS, or is there anything that my friend should (could) request on departure from DEN?

US - YUL - INTL connection is simple. No security or customs. Only a kiosk for passport check. The only issue is it will usually be a long walk. US and INTL gates are actually close to each other physically but you need to walk back all the way almost to the domestic zone for the passport check. Pretty bad design if you ask me.

I believe YYZ may be even simpler because last time I did it there was not even passport control ...

After not getting OSS when using the new connections facility at YYZ T3 on a WestJet flight from the US, I sent Pearson's customer service a message asking if they had plans to implement it in the future, and got this in response:

You are correct that Toronto Pearson is a One-Stop Security (OSS) authorized airport. This year, we enhanced our OSS program to align with new regulations. We are working with our airline partners to adapt to the new program requirements, and hope to have many more air carriers, such as WestJet, participating in the coming months.

Does anyone know if LO has an ITD-OSS agreement at YYZ?

They do not. Itineraries involving LOT flights arriving from Warsaw do not qualify for ITD-OSS.

OSS - DFW versus the Candian airports YYZ/YUL/YVR/YYC

American Airlines doing a lot of press/media on bringing OSS to their airport for LHR-DFW travellers who are connecting onward.
Cool, calm and connected: American Airlines becomes first airline to pilot One Stop Security in the U.S. - American Airlines Newsroom

Interesting they don't mention the Candian airports have been doing this since 2016..... :D!!!
