YYZ Security
Well here I am in 2F awaiting my first ever Rouge flight. So far so good though I do find the seat a touch on the narrow side. Glad I'm up here in 2-2-2 instead of the 2-3-2 in the back of the bus!
So, totally my fault and this was a silly move on my part, but I just noticed that out of habit this morning I put my Swiss Army knife in my pocket. Obviously I made it through security at YYZ without setting off any alarms. So glad we spend the millions we do on airport security ... Like I said, it's my silly fault. I guess I got up a little too early for this flight and didn't have brain fully engaged. I'll have to mail my knife back to me when I land since I'm not checking anything in. But I am (perhaps naively) surprised I didn't at least set off a metal detector. Makes you wonder what a determined person could smuggle through! |

It's not security. It's theatre. |
If pocket knives are a real security threat, so is the butter knife they give you with your meal.
It is actually a good thing that small metal objects don't set off the alarm. |

I've spent at least $100 mailing myself various miniature tools from airports around the world.
