Toronto - Canoe vs CN Tower
I had plans to view the sunset from CN Tower with a friend. Recently, I heard about Canoe. Would it be fair to say that folks visit the CN Tower for its view and not for the food? Would Canoe offer a better combination of food and view? As I'm not familiar with Canoe's location, would it offer a similar view of the sun setting?
Canoe is only open to the public during the week, so I would have to rearrange the schedule for my upcoming weekend trip as I plan to dine at Jacques' Bistro du Parc as well. Thanks in advance. |
The food at Canoe is much better.
However, you won't have that great a view at Canoe if you don't have a table right by the Window. Also, you would only have a south and/or east view there as opposed to a 360 degree view at the CN Tower. |
Canoe: Food much better but no west sunset view.

Canoe....but no west sunset view.
Ad of course in the age of the Internet. Don't take my word for anything, not that I have been there close to 50 times in the last 12 years... You can see all the tables. Nice 360 camera. http://events.oliverbonacini.com/Ven...o-Gallery.aspx |
What is the chance of a non-regular customer getting one of the west view for dinner at Canoe?
|
Having lunch at Canoe next Monday so I will scope it out!;)

the hardest table is the corner one in the southwest corner IMO. as to the OP, the club restauarnt, stratos, in the buiding south of the tower that canoe is in also has a great view, but that certainly has no west view (that is the view in my gym...:) lots of south facing tables. prices are less than canoe and food is better than the CN tower restaurant. |

Could the restaurant be called Stratus?

Had lunch at Canoe yesterday and got the southwest corner table. Views were great and the overcast sky gave way to sun about 1:15 or so.
In the evening we went to Chase on Temperance Street and the food and service was far superior to Canoe. The wine list prices were (I do not drink but paid the bill) over the top, however. |
