Quebec

God, I love that place - the whole province.

Just was in Quebec City this week for a few days' R&R.

Beautiful architecture, fascinating historic sites, gorgeous nature, excellent food....

The French cultural influence gives it a great bookstore culture, which I absolutely love. So many places to browse through and authors to learn about. I picked up some promising Quebecois novels that I hope to get to soon.

And the people are just so freakin' friendly and warm.

Sigh.... I wish I'd stayed longer. Maybe I need to take a long weekend trip back up there sometime in the fall.

Anyway, just wanted to share and figured this was the place. :D

I also just spent a delightful 2-day stay there a week+ ago...couldn't agree more.

And there's this bonus just across the river via ferry ride: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...is_Quebec.html

Yup, that's my city alright ;) I sometimes feel like our culture is very much americanized, but I'm always surprised to realize that I feel more at home traveling through Europe rather than the US.. I like to think we have integrated the best of both cultures, on a totally chauvinistic note :D

Quebec City is nice indeed.

Three things are not so swell, though:

Winter.
Income Tax.
Language Police.
