YVR to Sheraton Wall Centre question

There will be 5 of us heading from YVR to the Sheraton, 2 adults & 3 kids aged 8, 6 and 3.

We will have carseats for the kids with us.

Because of the extra fee you pay on using the train from the airport, I'm thinking that we'll be better off just getting a limo (or a taxi van) rather than trying to do this by public transport - does that seem correct?

We won't be flying back from YVR - we'll be driving out.

Thanks

Tony
(FWIW, our arrival will be 2-3pm on a weekday).

Taxi vans are kind of small here so not sure if they will fit all of you in. A stretched limo might be a better idea.

You can avert the airport fee by buying a book of 10 transit passes ("Faresaver") from the 7-11 (and one other outlet - drug store?) in the basement of the domestic terminal. You'll need a two-zoner for midweek afternoon usage so that book will cost over $33. Probably just as well take a taxi for that much since you won't be using the transit tickets again.

The Sheraton Wall Centre isn't very close to a Skytrain station. You'll have to shlep all that stuff from the station to the hotel.

The taxi vans are a decent size - just like a minivan. So, if your stuff would fit in a minivan, it'll probably fit a taxi van.

Thanks both. Most helpful!

Taxi would be about $40, the rank supervisor will get a van for you if needed. Limo would be closer to $70 but worth it IMO (hey, if you can afford the Wall Centre :D ).

Definitely wouldn't recommend the train with a family + luggage, you'd likely need a taxi at the other end anyway.

Ha ha! They have family suites that work out as pretty good value. We can all get into one suite for $335 a night incl. breakfast.

I stayed there in Dec and they had a shuttle from the Sheraton (free). Did you look into that? Maybe you want to call them and see what they will do.

Can you clarify - shuttle from where to where???

I know the Westin Wall Centre has an airport shuttle but no sign of anything on the Sheraton website.

Thanks
