Automated Border Clearance in YYZ
 

Just got home from a US trip and used the Automated Border Clearance . Was on DL in T3, and it was faster than Nexus. I wonder when it will be coming to T1.

The machines were working today at T1.

We've had it at YVR for a couple of years and it's definitely not faster than Nexus.

If YYZ follows YVR's pattern, once people get used to the machines all returning Canadian Residents will be sent to the kiosks and the podiums will be down-staffed.

At YVR this means you can use the machine pretty quickly, but there's a fairly long queue to speak to the officers posted post-machine (pre-carousel).

At peak times, this is precisely what's happening at YUL as well.

Other times, the machines are definitely an improvement over the regular counters. NEXUS remains the fastest option.

Or crew lanes.

Came in and used these for the first time 2 weeks ago - there were tons of them, and seemed to be only 2 Nexus machines - and people lined up for them! So it was definitely quicker for us!
