Pharmacies in Alberta?
Traveling for two weeks in Alberta this July and wife has transplant meds that would need to be filled in an emergency if her supply is lost/damaged. I do not see any Walgreen's or CVS in Canada, and Walmart's in Calgary or Edmonton do not appear to have pharmacies. Need to a big pharmacy chain that would have a few 24 hour stores that could service our needs.
Thanks! |
Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall/PharmaPlus are ubiquitous pharmacy chains in Western Canada - Shoppers Drug Mart in particular has a lot of late-night and 24 hour stores, and I'm sure their website will give you specific locations.

And Pharmasave.

Also Boots.
Though web site takes me to shoppersdrugmart.ca, so may have been sold since I was in Alberta last. Pretty sure I remember seeing them in British Columbia fairly recently. EmailKid |
Note that 24 hour pharmacies are not as common as in the US. Shoppers Drug Mart is your best (only?) bet for 24 hour and probably just 24 hours in the major cities. For example, in Edmonton they many stores but just 3 that are open 24 hours. I believe many of the Walmart's do have pharmacies but note that they are often not open the same hours as the general store hours.

IIRC both YYC /YEG have 24 hr pharmacies (SDM)
Outside of those two cities I'm not sure. YVR certainly has them. |
Real Canadian Superstore and London Drugs are other options but not 24 hour operations.
