16 Hours Layover in Vancouver

Any suggestions on where to stay and what to do during my 16 hours layover in Vancouver? I will be arriving in Vancouver around 8PM and leaving around 1PM the next day.

Budget? Entertainment and dining preference? If you want a quiet night and morning, airport area/Richmond hotel otherwise you can go into town.

What airlines are you arriving / departing on?

Where are you arriving from / departing to?

Is your baggage checked all the way through?

Do you want to sleep that night?

What will your biological clock be set to?

I would say the first and easiest thing would be to get a room at the Fairmont Hotel at YVR. You're at the airport, right next to the train into town.

Another timing issue is what travel document do you hold and will use? I have landed from Asia and plane to curb was 10 minutes with my Nexus but if you hold certain passport or visa and is arriving with a planeload of long immigration processing time fellow passengers it could be 90 minutes.

US departure from all major Canadian airport has certain "rush hour" which could mean a long lineup depending on your travel documentations.

Get a hotel downtown and go to sleep.
