Two hour layover at YVR -- enough to transit?

Hi,

I'm currently booked on a flight coming from France and heading to San Francisco, with a two hour layover in YVR. I won't be leaving the airport or anything, just transiting through. Is 2 hours enough time to make it through whatever procedures they've got set up there?

Thanks!

I'd say it'll probably be very tight (much depends on luck when you arrive). If the airline you're flying in on (TS or some other leisure/charter airline as there's no scheduled France-YVR flight AFAIK) doesn't have baggage interline (marginally helpful in this case), you have to clear entry into Canada (along with your bags) and check in going to the U.S. with U.S. preclearance and all that it involves.

Variables:
1) How busy it is when you arrive (my recent arrivals have been remarkably quiet)
2) checked bags and where you sit in the a/c
3) Whether you can bypass Canadian entry or not

Too tight IMO. If the incoming flight is on time or early you'd probably make it, but as it's two separate tickets you will not be protected on the SFO flight if you mis-connect.

If you can change the YVR-SFO flight, I'd do so to the evening 7pm-ish departure, the others don't allow for much leeway if something goes wrong.
