If you've ever transited YYZ and said to yourself, "The food options here are way too reasonably priced"... you're in luck! The GTAA will be installing several in-terminal dining outlets in cooperation with some of the city's top restaurateurs which they say will be as good as any fine dining downtown. Story here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/...rticle2397382/ Personally, I'm just happy for the recently-built Subway at T1 allowing for a decently healthy meal for under 10 bucks. I probably won't be availing myself of this cutting edge cuisine, but hold out hope more name-brand, mainstream dining outlets are on the way... |
From The Torontoist: " Pearson Airport is getting a whole bunch of fancy new restaurants (see video, above), thanks to a new restaurant operator that the Greater Toronto Airports Authority has hired to handle food in the terminals. The Pizzeria Libretto guy is involved, and so is the guy who co-owns Amaya—and so, for that matter, are several other prominent Toronto restaurateurs. Will this make Pearson into a delightful, relaxing place to dally between flights? Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. At the very least, the tourists these new eateries gouge will be slightly better fed than they would otherwise have been...." http://torontoist.com/2012/04/extra-...bout-rob-ford/
