Boeing 727 at YVR?

Sorry if this isn't the correct forum for this but I couldn't think of anywhere else to put it.

Was on holiday in Vancouver recently staying at the HIX Richmond. While outside in the morning having the first cigarette of the day I noticed on a couple of occasions what I think was a Boeing 727 taking off. The light was poor so all I really saw was the silhouette but I'm pretty sure it was a 727....pretty noisy and smoky. I was a bit surprised as I thought 727's were a thing of the past.

Does anyone know if I was correct and who operates the aircraft?

FlightAware.com is showing that Kelowna Flightcraft Air Charter operated Flight #776 this afternoon, a 727-200 between YVR-YLW, all of 33 minutes. So that would be my guess.

Cargojet also operates these old birds as freighters out of YVR:

They're a regular sight to YVR frequent flyers.

Kelowna Flightcraft has quite a few of these birds. For what reason, I don't know. Was up in the YLW area for a week but didn't hear them all week (unless they've been taking off to the north).

They run the Purolator air freight. KF also has several DC-10's operating YVR-YHM.
