need advice YYZ parking
Has anyone used the GTAA discount parking garage?
Are there usually easily obtainable spots on a Monday aroun 0930 or 10 AM? Thanks... Bubba |
If you are referring to the GTAA discount lot which is outside, uncovered parking by the monorail station, yes, you should have not trouble getting a spot, however, the walk might be far. I am not sure what the cost difference is for the new GTAA covereage garage on the other side of the monorail station, if it isn't too much more, you could avoid cleaning your auto off on your return.
Here is some info on pricing so you can decide based on your budget. http://www.gtaa.com/en/travellers/ai...ation/parking/ |
not that bad.... the parking lot is off viscount road.... elevator to 4th Floor and walk on the heated bridge to the skytrain..... mostly long term parkers or staff

That's not much of a discount. The weekly rates at the discount garage are $105 but the main garage right beside the terminal is $140.
I wonder though if you can combine the Valet Care with the discount (uncovered) lot? Valet Care Flat fee of $25.00 plus regular parking rates. Canadian or U.S. funds, debit, or any major credit card is accepted. |

http://www.gtaa.com/en/travellers/ai...parking/rates/ I will admit to parking at the terminal each time -- at 5 am there are usually spots within 10m of the elevators. :D |
Find Viscount covered parking most convenient - only better deal is parking package at Sheraton Gateway if you have an early flight !
|
Honestly for the minimal price difference I'd just park at the terminal. It's so much more convenient particularly if you're shlepping luggage. Your car is covered and you're right beside the terminal. That's my $0.02.

Currently only $90.

How is the space in the discount garage? How far from the train station does one have to park? In the T1 garage it's easy to find very good spots early in the morning ...
|
$90 vs $140 is a saving that I gladly accept when I'm paying out of my own pocket and can't bill back to a client. Although the garage may look full, the South half is Staff and Aircrew parking. In the North half you can minimize schlepping of luggage by driving up to the 4th floor and parking near the Viscount station entrance.

How can I be a part-time staff and get a parking permit at YYZ?:p
The parking fees of my frequent trips really add up. :p:p:p |

My understanding is that many airline and airport employees have to pay for parking in the employee car park ("Viscount").
