Two shampoos or ONE

At the security line up at YYZ the lady ahead of me had 2x75cc containers of shampoo in her ziploc bag and the security person confiscated one from her bag saying she was only allowed one. He asked her to go back out and check it in or he was going to put it in the garbage. I thought as long as it fit in your ziploc bag it was allowed--or am I wrong?

You are right. Seems typical that a CATSA agent wants to make up his own rules, alas.

And we wonder why air rage is rampant these days, even among cabinet ministers! Editorial in the FINANCIAL POST magazine today makes the same point: stupidity vis a via airline security only makes a farce out of the whole procedure and undermines any public support.

I once had one of those small water bottles AC provides with economy class international meals in my carry on. It had about a half inch of water left. I was told that I had to go back through security, dump the water or bottle, then re-clear security! The bottle, completely empty, was acceptable. With an once of water, it was illegal. Another time, I was told I could not take three miniatures of whiskey (in 50 ml bottles) through security.

In each case you should have solved it by drinking the evidence. The idea that 50 mL of water is dangerous in a 500 mL bottle is an example of how dumb things have become.
